This month, we debut the MDI Data Dashboard, a new interactive online tool for exploring patterns and trends in data reflecting children in the middle years. Plus, we welcome a new faculty member and learn about community-led research in the Comox Valley for Part 3 of our Data & Connection Series.
MDI Data Dashboard Now Available!
We are excited to introduce the Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI) Data Dashboard — an invaluable tool for exploring MDI data from participating school districts over the past five years. We invite you to explore this new online, interactive platform in preparation for the official launch this fall.
As this is a new reporting tool, we’d love to hear from you! Please submit your feedback via this form. Please share this email with your colleagues and contact us should you have any questions.
Building Connections in Comox Valley
In response to concerns about rising Early Development Instrument (EDI) vulnerability rates in the region, a collaborative in Comox Valley established a community-led research initiative that uses a social innovation lab approach to collectively inform and engage with communities. The goal of this initiative is enhancing early years supports and services for children and families.
"Now that helicopter parenting has become the standard, how does anyone stop?" HELP Director Dr. Mariana Brussoni provides insight on how parents can encourage child autonomy for The Atlantic.
HELP is pleased to support the early years sector to access and use Monitoring System data to inform their work with children and families. HELP has partnered with provincial sector leaders like Family Resource Programs of BC (FRP-BC) to provide workshops and information on HELP’s data and research to their members from across the province.
